<summary type="text">Título : Multiproxy study of plant remains from Cerro Casa de Piedra 7 (Patagonia, Argentina)
Descripción : The objective of this work is to carry out an integral study of macro and microbotanical remains with the aim of providing information to the palaeoenvironmental reconstruction and understanding the different practices employed in the acquisition of woody material used by hunter-gatherer societies from the northwestern region of the Santa Cruz Province, Argentine Patagonia, during the early and middle Holocene. For this purpose, we study macrobotanical remains (carbonized and non-carbonized wood) recovered from different combustion structures and from the sediment of the three stratigraphic levels dated by 14C and resulting in ages of 9,640 ± 190 years BP; 8,380± 120 years BP and 6,150 ± 105 years BP, of the Cerro Casa de Piedra 7 site. Also, pollen and small plant fragments of human and camelid coprolites were studied. The analysis conducted show differences in the taxonomic resolution obtained by each one of the proxies. The marked representation of Nothofagus pumilio among charcoal and wood makes clear that the forest was an environment recurrently used by hunter-gatherers occupying CCP7. The study of pollen and plant fragments coming from coprolites, allowed the identification of grass species typical of the steppe environments and forest-steppe ecotonal areas. In this way, plant fragments provide higher level of taxonomic resolution and a greater diversity for paleoenvironmental reconstruction. The results obtained by means of the multi-proxy analysis allowed us not only to enlarge the reconstruction of the hunter-gatherers livable environment, but also to recognize the availability and use of the plant resources in the Early-Mid-Holocene in the region.; Fil: Caruso, Laura Lihue. <summary type="text">Título : Evaluation of the characteristic curves of a-Si:H based devices with the Simmons-Taylor approximation when the defect pool model is used
Descripción : The performance of a-Si:H devices is highly sensitive to the density of gap states: tail states are distributed in two exponentials and defect states are generated by dangling bonds (DB). The density of DB in a-Si:H can be evaluated with the defect pool model (DPM). Charge trapping and recombination of electron–hole pairs through tail states are described by the Shockley–Read–Hall (SRH) formalism while defect states behave as amphoteric. Equations derived with the SRH formalism can be simplified with the Simmons–Taylor’s approximation (STA), especially with the “0K” approximation (0KSTA). Amphoteric-like defect states were approximated by donor- and acceptor-like decoupled states (DSA). The accuracy of STA was tested in a-Si:H based devices when the density of DB is evaluated with the DPM for different illumination conditions, voltages, temperatures, and some key electrical parameters. Our code was modified to include both the STA and the DSA. Our results indicate that the STA is very accurate under illuminated conditions. Under dark conditions, the STA is acceptable for forward voltages but overestimates the dark current at reverse voltages. The 0KSTA can be used under illuminated conditions for any applied voltage and under dark conditions for forward voltages.; Fil: de Greef, Marcelo Gastón. <summary type="text">Título : A programming interface and framework for developing recommendation algorithms on large-scale social networks
Descripción : Friend recommendation algorithms in large-scale social networks such as Facebook or Twitter usually require the exploration of huge user graphs. In current solutions for parallelizing graph algorithms, the burden of dealing with distributed concerns falls on algorithm developers. In this paper, a simple yet powerful programming interface (API) to implement distributed graph traversal algorithms is presented. A case study on implementing a followee recommendation algorithm for Twitter using the API is described. This case study not only illustrates the simplicity offered by the API for developing algorithms, but also how different aspects of the distributed solutions can be treated and experimented without altering the algorithm code. Experiments evaluating the performance of different job scheduling strategies illustrate the flexibility or our approach.; Fil: Corbellini, Alejandro. Notes for a sociology of anti-imperialist intellectuals; Carlos Pereyra nos labirintos do desprezo.
The article seeks to make a contribution to the sociology of anti-imperialist intellectuals through the study of the itinerary and work of Carlos Pereyra Gómez (Saltillo, Mexico, 1871 - Madrid, Spain, 1942). Specifically, three sets of issues are addressed: 1) aspects related to the location of Carlos Pereyra in the Mexican and Ibero American ideological and cultural scene, drawing attention to his tragic political runout, as well as to the contexts of development and circulation of his works; 2) the way in which Pereyra’s anti-American and anti-imperialist sensitivity was conformed, and 3) dimensions of the Pereyra essays –considering mostly his book El mito de Monroe– from the perspective implied in the clause that titles this article –the labyrinths of contempt– or, in other words, from a sociological perspective attentive to the marks left in the texts by the perceptions about the place occupied, or believed to occupy, in the social space. The main hypothesis is that the manners in which Pereyra conceptualized the field of international relations can be thought of as counterparts to how he experienced the relations and differences between social classes.
