dc.descriptionLos intentos de caracterizar la organización económica y sociopolítica de los huarpes del centro-norte de Mendoza han incluido la consideración del desarrollo intensivo de algunas actividades, de la presencia de procesos de intensificación económica y de la organización a nivel de aldeas, jefaturas y cacicazgos. Dadas las imprecisiones que subyacen a estas propuestas y la muy escasa discusión previa sobre el tema, este artículo procura contribuir al avance del conocimiento sobre este tópico por medio de la evaluación general y la discusión de la información arqueológica y documental disponible-
dc.descriptionAttempts to characterize the economic and socio-political organization of the Huarpe of Mendoza have included consideration of intensive development of some activities, the presence of processes of economic intensification, and organization at the level of villages and chiefdoms. Given the uncertainties underlying these proposals, and the very little previous discussion on the issue, this article seeks to contribute to the advancement of knowledge on this topic through a general evaluation and discussion of the all the archaeological and documentary information available.-
