| dc.description | el periodo 1995-2015, sobre un antiguo debate vinculado a la relación causal entre el ciclo económico y la productividad total de los factores (PTF). Asimismo, se analiza el impacto de los canales por los que las mejoras tecnológicas puede tener lugar: la inversión extranjera directa (IED) y el grado de apertura comercial. Los resultados muestran una causación conjunta del ciclo y el crecimiento de la PTF cuando se consideran un rezago, y solo desde el ciclo al crecimiento de la PTF cuando dos rezagos son tenidos en cuenta. Otros resultados significativos fueron el crecimiento del capital no ligado a las TIC y el crecimiento del capital TIC como causa de las variaciones en las PTF. | - |
| dc.description | This paper shows evidence on an old debate linked to the causal relationship between the business cycle and total factor productivity (TFP) for a group of 15 countries of Latin America and the Caribbean, from 1995 through 2015. The impact of the channels by which technological improvements can take place is also analyzed: foreign direct investment (FDI) and the degree of trade openness. The results show a joint causation of the cycle and TFP growth when a lag is considered and only from the cycle to the TFP growth when two lags are taken into account. Other significant results were the growth of capital that is not linked to ICT’s and the ICT capital growth as a cause of TFP variations. | - |
