| dc.description | La dispersión urbana invade el territorio con urbanizaciones de muy baja densidad, arrasando con su calidad natural, económica y social. La internacionalización de las ciudades ha llevado a resaltar la importancia de un desarrollo del territorio equilibrado y ha obligado a pensar nuevos instrumentos de planificación. El desarrollo de tránsito orientado (Transit Oriented Development, TOD) se presenta como un modelo para contener la dispersión urbana garantizando la sostenibilidad territorial. En el presente trabajo, se pretende comprender el rol que juega el transporte en la articulación entre la ciudad que se expande y el territorio sobre el cual se asienta. Para desarrollar este objetivo, se establece una revisión de las propuestas que plantea la planificación de Copenhague y Vancouver. El presente trabajo es de metodología cualitativa. El estudio realizado muestra cómo las políticas respecto al uso de la tierra y al transporte público pueden permitir orientar el crecimiento urbano dando lugar a un ordenamiento territorial sostenible. | - |
| dc.description | Urban dispersion invades the territory with very low density urbanizations razing its natural, economical and social quality. The internationalization of cities has led to highlight the importance of a balanced development of the territory and forced to think of new planning tools. Transit Oriented Development (TOD) is presented as a model to contain urban dispersion ensuring the territorial sustainability. Understanding the role played by transport in the joint between the expanding city and the territory on which sits is the main purpose of the present study. In order to develop this goal, a review of the proposals posed by Copenhagen and Vancouver planning is established. The study shows how policies regarding land use and public transport can help target the urban growth leading to sustainable land management. | - |
