| dc.description | El caso de la Villa San Luis (1971-2017) nos presenta dos experiencias socio espaciales contrapuestas. Por un lado, la ciudad de la participación popular, que a través de políticas públicas y la acción directa de pobladores buscó dar respuestas a un fenómeno de marginalidad urbana creciente. Por otro lado, producto del Golpe de Estado y posterior dictadura, estas acciones se vieron truncadas. La Villa, en ese entonces conocida como población compañero Ministro Carlos Cortes, es renombrada en un proceso de descalificación con el cual la dictadura buscó disociar y olvidar que estos lugares fueron la concreción de un imaginario urbano de izquierda.La Villa San Luis, fue desalojada y su población desplazada durante la dictadura militar. Actualmente, ha sido demolida en un 95%, ubicándose en su reemplazo uno de los centros inmobiliarios y de negocios más importantes de Santiago de Chile, en la comuna de Las Condes. | - |
| dc.description | The case of Villa San Luis (1971-2017) presents two opposing socio-spatial experiences. On the one hand, the city of popular participation, which through public policies and the direct action of residents sought to respond to a phenomenon of increasing urban marginality. On the other hand, as a result of the coup d’état and the subsequent dictatorship, these actions were cut short. The Villa, at that time known as the “Carlos Cortes” comrade population, was renamed in a process of disqualification with which the dictatorship sought to dissociate and forget that these places were the concretion of an urban imaginary of the left. Villa San Luis was evicted and its population displaced during the military dictatorship. Currently, it has been demolished by 95%, placing one of the most important real estate and business centers in Santiago de Chile, in the Las Condes district. | - |
