| dc.description | Esta tesis, de carácter exploratorio, busca analizar el nivel de toxicidad que se da en distintas áreas del Valle Calchaquí y la relación de dicha situación con la orientación productiva y consecuentes posibilidades de desarrollo del mismo. El valle Calchaquí se encuentra al oeste de la provincia de Salta, Argentina, regado por el río Calchaquí que, junto con sus afluentes, forma una cuenca que se extiende de norte a sur. En algunos de estos ríos se detectó la presencia de boro (B) con niveles mayores a 1 mg L-1. Se considera que a estos niveles de toxicidad se ve limitada la capacidad de diversificación productiva y, consecuentemente, la potencialidad económica de la zona. Se estudia el impacto productivo y económico-social que las limitaciones asociadas a diferentes niveles de toxicidad provocan en distintas áreas de dicha zona. Por otro lado, se revisan algunos antecedentes de políticas de intervención relacionadas con esta problemática llevadas adelante en otros países como posible aporte a la elaboración de políticas públicas para mitigar el problema de la contaminación de sus aguas y suelo irrigado, como instrumentos tendientes a generar condiciones que promuevan el desarrollo de la región. | - |
| dc.description | This thesis, of exploratory nature, seeks to analyze the level of toxicity that is present in different areas of the Calchaquí valley and the relationship of this situation with the productive orientation and consequent possibilities of development in this area. The Calchaquí valley is located west of the province of Salta, Argentina, and it is watered by the Calchaquí river, which along with its tributaries forms a basin that stretches from north to south. In some of these rivers the presence of boron (B) with levels higher than 1 mg L-1 was detected. Given these levels of toxicity, it is considered that the possibilities of production diversification and consequently the economic potential of the area are limited. The productive and social economic impact of the limitations associated with different levels of toxicity caused in different areas of the zone are studied. On the other hand, an examination is made of some of the intervention policies followed in other countries related to this issue with a view to make a possible contribution to the development of public policies aimed at mitigating the problem of water and irrigated soil pollution, that serve as instruments to create conditions promoting the development of the region. | - |
