| dc.description | Hace doscientos años que murió el abate aragonés, Vicente Requeno (Calatorao, 1743-Tívoli, 1811). Ante el riesgo de que pase desapercibida la importante contribución teórica de este estudioso obsesionado por el mito de la perfección clásica (en pintura encáustica, música, etc.), presentamos sus rasgos bíobibliográficos, haciendo hincapié en sus estudios de telegrafía óptica. Requeno, siguiendo, sobre todo a Polibio, restableció (1790) un sistema de comunicación telegráfica totalmente clásica (y por tanto inviable en los tiempos modernos), basada en señales luminosas, acústicas y de humo, pero capaces de transmitir mensajes complejos. | - |
| dc.description | The Aragonese abbot, Vicente Requeno (Calatorao, 1743-Tivoli, 1811) died two hundred years ago. Just not to be ignored the valuable theoretical contribution he made to, this scholar truly obsessed by the myth about classical perfection (in encaustic painting, Graeco-Latin music...), we present his biobibliographical outline emphasizing his studies on the optical telegraphy dates from ancient times, in the form of torches (as used by ancient Greeks) and smoke signáis, as Polybius, the Greek historian, carne up with a more complex system of alphabetical smoke signáis around 150 BC. The first telegraphs carne in the form of optical telegraph including the use of smoke signáis, beacons or reflected light, which have existed since ancient times.
