dc.descriptionSince the first decades of the nineteenth century, various authors have associated San Carlos de Bariloche with the image of "tourist city", at the same time that the character of "monoproduction" has been attributed to tourism. But in addition, Bariloche has been able to house other activities, whose development is due both to the dynamics of demographic growth sustained during the 20th century and the beginning of the 21st century, as well as to various public policies and private initiatives. Among these, it is worth highlighting the development of scientific and technological activities that today play an important role at the local, national and international level, such as the Balseiro Institute and the Bariloche Atomic Center, INVAP, Altec and a group of related companies. . This work aims to make a contribution to the debate on the relevance of the tourism sector in relation to the growing and dynamic sector of knowledge-intensive services.-
dc.descriptionDesde las primeras décadas del siglo XIX, diversos autores han asociado a San Carlos de Bariloche con la imagen de “ciudad turística”, al mismo tiempo que se le ha atribuido al turismo el carácter de “monoproducción”. Pero además, Bariloche ha sabido albergar a otras actividades, cuyo desarrollo se debe tanto a la propia dinámica de crecimiento demográfico sostenido durante el siglo XX y comienzos del siglo XXI, como también a diversas políticas públicas e iniciativas privadas. Dentro de éstas, cabe destacar el desarrollo de actividades científico-tecnológicas que hoy cumplen un importante rol tanto a nivel local como nacional e internacional, como es el caso del Instituto Balseiro y el Centro Atómico Bariloche, INVAP, Altec y un conjunto de empresas vinculadas. Este trabajo tiene por objetivo hacer un aporte al debate sobre la relevancia del sector turístico en relación al creciente y dinámico sector de servicios intensivos en conocimiento.-
