The concept of subspecies; an observation. According to the modern rule subspecies do not overlap; if this happens the two populations ought to be regarded as different species. In numerous cases the status of a form has been changed only because it has heen recorded in the area inhabited by another population. This is Considered as a poor concept, sometimes leading to the illogical fact that two subspecies are morphological, are different than two species. The author points out that in tropical and subtropical areas the same species of bird might have and frequently have two or more populations, of different breeding cycle (spring, autumn and winter); these popnlations can belong to the same form or be only subspecifically difierent. It is therefore recommended not to rush the denomination of form from subspecies to species only beacause of general overlapping.-
